Honestly, I prefer when they just walked you out the door. At least you were done right then and there I’m trying to wrap up all my HR stuff and my manager keeps asking me for additional items and transition. Plus, the HR rep sent me a welcome to Dell video as part of my notification. anyone else going through the same thing? I wish I would’ve asked if I could be done yesterday

I was also laid off last week. My manager and HR notified Tuesday 2/20 that Friday would be my last day. I didn't work the rest of the week either. I let my manager figure out any ongoing projects I was working. Once HR sent me my separation email that day, I cut ties with my manager. Now, just waiting on my final paperwork to sign for severance. 13 years of loyalty. Smh...
You guys in the US get so sc--wed on packages. I heard the US Synergy team only got 1 week notice. Where in APJ several countries got over a month and then on top of that a package worth about 1/2 year pay.
My manager keeps bugging me even though i put up pto to cover the week until my departure I hope they all get the same treatment they dont deserve jobs.
Sorry to hear you are going through this. Very surprised to hear that it was notify Monday, out Friday, as Dell has typically been a 2 week place. I also preferred the exit day of notification. Very strange. You will do well in your next gig!!
Sorry but your reply makes no sense People have not opted into remote or hybrid yet so none of what you described has happened.
Actually talking to all these people, it seems that the moment you opted for staying on remote, your name got added to the next round of layoffs 'as you voluntarily forfeited your rights to career advancement'....And they took it literally !
HR : Sooo what's it's gonna be ? Hybrid or Remote ?
Employee : Well I though it over and since I'm way too far now from a Dell office I accept the impact on advancement and benefits and will opt for Remo....

Went through this a year ago. Rest assured, brighter days ahead. So much happier in my new role, leaving Dell was a blessing in disguise.

My Off Boarding in September went fairly smooth. My only hiccup was having to wait so long for a box to send my computer back in. If you have the option to drop it off then I would say do that. Otherwise my paper work was processed quickly and my money was in my bank account in about 2 weeks from the time I signed the paper work.
Sorry you are going through this. I was notified Monday, my last day is also Friday. Working with HR has been a bit of a challenge in preparing for offboarding. On to bigger and better things. Hope the same for you and everyone else having to maneuver through this.
