Thread regarding Dell Inc. layoffs

Dell - you are not a technology company

Dell you are nothing but a logistics and manufacturing company. You won’t ever BE a technology company. You don’t build technologies! You’ve got an upper management c-suite and SVP suite that lives in 1996. You’ve got no experience in building software, yes that’s to you Dell Digital and your other software products that you have built have been monumental failures. You don’t listen, aren’t interested in changing your strategy and are still in the same industry with diversifying literally anything!

Seriously, why do you think you’d be successful over the next 5 years? Cutting people will save you for the next couple. Outside of that “modernization” focusing in on the operational aspects of the company isn’t going to help.

Get a new strategy. Focusing in on doing the same thing just a bit better isn’t going to help. Ditch the consultants and get a real c-suite. That would help.

“Do you feel better now? Jeff Clarke, Mike Dell, and I were reading this over coffee and we wanted to know if writing this screed helped you cope,“

Maybe they should read it instead of listening to 25 year old consultants who have zero real experience.

Outside of Alienware, I can't think of a company that Dell has bought that they didn't sc--w up (I don't consider VMware a company they bought, it Dell never attempted to integrate it into the company).

All those Software companies they bought over the years have been bust.
Compellent Bust. Wyse Bust.

Heck and all the attempts to make a high end Server Systems Management system were bust. ASM, RackHD, ETC...

Sonicwall the most innovative solution on the market, .000003% if marketshare is leading the lack. A true innovation in AI

Nvidia and supermicro are crushing it. Why because they innovated in AI. Super micro up 1000% from a year ago. When you just glue together what someone else invented you really can't claim much innovation. Especially when the claimed innovations are already in the market. Dell doesn't have terrible products. It's just low margin, cheap, and dragging the market on innovation

"or what they called managers (worthless)"

I take offense to that statement. Front line managers are now your enemy.

BTW - the whole notion of “modernization” is an oxymoron and literally defines your failing strategy. You need to replace your c-suite and SVP layer. Plenty of other successful companies have done it.
