I have been laid off recently. No luck so far. It seems to me that tech companies are so deep in restructuring and cuts that they are yet unsure about which profile of peeps they need to take on. The problem is that I have no luxury to be jobless for too long. How are the rest of you affected by layoffs faring?

Got a new spot lined up after 2 months of having my door open for recruiters. Didn't spam leet code at all, just talked about my experience and got a good interviewer who was realistic about using chat gpt and debuggers for the coding portion. 5 years experience here that was pretty solid to start, and just got stale with the lack of budget for promotions.
nothing out there,its a dark time. Soon may be openings to be cannon fodder overseas
Make sure you really do have a network of colleagues. It actually is better if you've been working for a while because maybe you can use your contacts to get beyond whatever resume machine a company uses to find candidates.
I tried for a while but I was 64, not many companies looking to hire anyone over 60 or even 55. I ended up retiring and trying to make ends meet. I had some friends that worked LinkedIn and used relationships to eventually land a job. I think it is much easier if you have a network of friends at different companies. LinkedIn can help but you have to advertise yourself and put it out there that you are looking
