Thread regarding Nike Inc. layoffs

What I’ve learned from layoff.com

There isn’t a single ceo or person in the world that can fix Nike. Everyone hates everyone.

John is definitely a villain, rose colored glasses makes Mark Parker look like the hero, yet he had rampant boy club behavior running underneath him. Phil loved his workers but won’t love these gen z and millennials workers.

So who’s up next? HON? To receive all our hate?

This premise is wrong and toxic waste.

It’s not a CEO problem, it’s an internal behavior problem. Everyone clamoring for power, attention and to keep their stock options.

HON is dishonest and only cares about herself. Look at how many have been termed around her for knowing (and not keeping) her secrets.

Quit paying and endorsing criminal thug athletes. That could be a start.

I don’t disagree JD isn’t the right fit for Nike. But who is? Outside of hiring an old dog, which I think in this environment won’t change the direction we’re going. Who will get us on the right path again? I hear mixed feelings about HON, but who outside of that?

People hated AC but felt like JD did him dirty. Who should run this company because JD days are numbered.

Mp was a product guy. Product that’s new and hyped up sells and raises the level of the lake for all. Current guy is merely a PowerPoint monkey pretending to be ceo that doesn’t understand the business. Wall Street wants growth and all he can deliver is cost cuts.

People like MP because he led during an era where senior leaders didn’t micromanage and where individual contributors could build/execute plants and get credit for them.

A lot of horrendous stuff happened when he was around, for sure.

I don’t see a way to get back to that from a motivation/culture perspective unless everyone is cleared out.

They may not have contributed to it, but they have been complicit in not changing it.
