I was in GM few years ago and everyone knew about the massive 2019 layoff. So a whole group was sacked except one person, and that person had a unique experience: upon hearing about the layoff in late 2018, he panicked so much he had a heart problem and he had an operation since winter 2018, unable to return to work for several months, obviously on disability too. He returned to work on wheelchair also, and that was how frail he was
So for other companies, like Rivian, if you were going to find out if you would be laid-off during a specific week, would having the entire week or month off for FMLA be a good idea? And sue the company if they still lay off anyway (I know this is legal, but it would put additional pressure to the employer)
Better yet, maybe have a case with the employer to Department of Justice due to the Russia/China collusion? Espionage on behalf of CCP, or Putin? I guess this would add a big chuck of additional protection. And wouldn't this do our country a favor, when it is found out the employer is really selling out the US for the enemy? Then just keep suing until the company falls apart?
