Just bumped into someone in Dell mentioned a rumor a Dell reducing its layoff package. Any thoughts?

Sure the layoff package changed to. Let’s get everybody to quit so we don’t have to have layoff packages.
In the documentation on the HR website it’s 2 months + 1 week for every year you’ve worked at Dell. In SOME cases they might pay for 6 months of COBRA but it doesn’t specify what instance they would do that. If you get wfr try to negotiate it.
One scary thing I heard is that they make you sign something saying you won’t talk to old coworkers or talk online about Dell negatively / about the layoff. Can’t talk to media. If they find out you do, they won’t give you your severance. They won’t give you your severance until they get their equipment back either.
They pay a lump sum and it’s taxed heavily like your bonus (22%)
Not sure what happens if you run your mouth after you get severance.
I’m 99.9% sure I will be effected by wfr as I am remote and won’t go back (don’t live near office) and I’m not doing well at work in general.
If you think there is a very good chance you will be effected I strongly recommend asking doctors for 90 day supply of meds you take daily and start using your time off.. use it or lose it.
They want to hack and slash even more and do not care in the slightest. They are running this company by Bain’s spreadsheet now. Fully expect them to reduce the layoff package - they won’t mess with the 60 day base amount due to the WARN act, but they will absolutely reduce the per year of service amount, fraction of bonus, and/or cap the overall amount much lower.
I got laid off yet I keep getting a dell check every 2 weeks.

I don’t think they can reduce it much. I think they give that first month or two so they don’t have to do the WARN act.
