Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

AT&T BENEFITS

What is going on with AT&T benefits? First they messed up the monthly amount for the Medicare Advantage retirees. Now today I received a letter saying they were cancelling my plan effective 2/29. I called and was told it was a mistake. I said what is going on? Isn't anyone checking the letters going out? He said he received tons of calls on the cancelling issue. I said just the postage/paper/etc and not to mention it is terrible to have this letter sent....

AT&T get your act together.

Open Enrollment last fall was a total mess. Finally got a gal who was able to roll over the plan without issue. Then in December they automatically added on an additional $150 a month starting Jan for my spouse thinking he had insurance from his employer. Took several calls to fix that and finally by March 1st they started deducting the correct amount. In all my years, I’ve never had an issue in getting it right the first time. lol

And I was actually disappointed when they let me go in 2020. Who knew how lucky I really was.

What happened is they outsourced that department to a company in India. They have been consistently making mistakes for the last year.

Look, this is being handled like any other AT&T run project. In other words, if it's 60% correct (some of the time), it's close enough.

“My team was just hit with a 20% headcount reduction yesterday.”

Name of group?

Not all the folks in India are polite and nice, some (especially those in leadership) are rude, condescending, take no responsibility and actually lie. Couldn’t stand them and the best part of getting laid off is I no longer have to deal/tolerate them!

The folks in India are polite and seem to believe they can answer your question or do certain things but are often wrong. I am sure someone in HR got a big promotion from Stink for this. Appalling c suite incompetence.

No charitable giving deductions taken out either. Workday deployment has been far from perfect.

The benefits department is cared for by contractors.

@hxv+1rhWNOTs there is no more "management" at benefits. Just people you can't understand and have no clue

The company is undergoing layoffs right now, arguably some of the worst we had ever seen. This is IN ADDITION to the relocation cuts.

My team was just hit with a 20% headcount reduction yesterday. They are not offering replacements, not even those from India.

If AT&T is the World Trade Center, we're at the part where the building is now collapsing. Make what you will of it. We might all be out of a job come April.

They didn't take out of my pension for our Care Plus for 2 months nor my spouse's $50 health insurance payment. But I was told in March they will deduct $106, we'll see!

I noticed no deductions for my Healthcare. Called and management doesn't know how to fix.
