Thread regarding Nielsen layoffs

This Townhall, OMG, is he serious?

This clown actually opened his little propaganda speech with "I truly believe these changes will offer more opportunity for ALL of us".

ROFLMAO

All of us? Does that include the thousands of people who are getting let go?
Read the room, dude. Most people here HATE YOU, and you just spat in their face with this "future of the company, yada yada yada" bullspit.

It’s been said before on this site, Nielsen is tone-deaf when it comes to the many employees being impacted by layoffs and offshoring.

"The recent new hires at the GTIC were not shown any of Karthik’s town halls announcing plans to offshore during their onboard training. All were instructed to not let them see or attend the town halls."

Here’s some food for thought on Nielsen culture:

  • The recent new hires at the GTIC were not shown any of Karthik’s town halls announcing plans to offshore during their onboard training. All were instructed to not let them see or attend the town halls.
  • The highly touted GROW programs have such a low focus by leadership there’s not even enough of a budget to buy participation plaques (a few hundred $$$’s) for the participants.
  • Nielsen has plenty of $$$ though (see above) to buy alcohol for panelists and give out $50 - $200+ gift cards to “encourage” aka influence, panelists to keep clicking their dinosaur aged remotes.
  • Nielsen is actively recruiting for roles offshore and sending positions overseas … yet wants to keep an office in New York to have outside executive meetings at as it’s “a better environment” to come to versus meeting in India.

In other words … Nielsen disrespects everyone, while telling everyone to be respectful of each other and come join their party.

Run from this train wreck like your hair is on fire and the water bucket is 500’ away.

It’s National Employee Day today and Nielsen hasn’t said a word …

Nielsen’s 100 birthday passed recently and not a word from leadership. No celebrations. Nope, nada, nothing …

… yet Nielsen wants to promote their BRG’s, GROW programs and such and wants to play the part of a progressive company, while everyone with a single brain cell can see through it.

Virtue signaling … and nothing else.

It’s comical to see the rotating door of executives coming and going every month, with the company seeming to be unaware of how this toxic behavior is a perfect reflection of the new Nielsen culture.

It’s like someone that has a new fiance every 5 months, and parades them around in front of their social circle until the next one arrives.

Every time I see a new exec being flaunted in these town hall meetings I’m thinking “What went so wrong with your career that you ended up at Nielsen?”

Sad and true.

The only transformation I can see happening is transforming employees into un-employees

Statistically it's been shown that about 1 in 5 business leaders are sociopaths. Look it up.

These people struggle with empathy and don't see others as human beings and lack a conscience. To people like Karthik, the rest of us are just numbers in a database. So he'll just go in front of the camera, read words that were written for him by somebody else off a teleprompter in his cold and lifeless tone, then go back to his c-suite in Manhattan where he'll make the decision to gut more payroll from the company. Means nothing to him. He just sees Nielsen employees as expendable automatons, not people who just had their lives turned upside down.

Oh he can read a room he just doesn’t care for what he is reading. It never ceases to amaze me how much dignity and integrity a human will sacrifice for money. It’s impossible to look at Karthik’s stiff delivery of a teleprompter read out and think “oh this man is an inspiring and innovative leader that will take this company to the next level.” All I see is an ego chasing after that executive level pay. “SUPER EXCITED” “I JUST WANT TO THANK YOU FOR EVERYTHING YOU DO” blah blah blah blah. Get lost.
