Cleaning

I know Jan/Feb. is always clean up/ fix up time but some of the demands seem excessive this year. I mean I get it, we need to be cleaning on a regular basis but it seems like do or die this year. Any other clubs experiencing this?

Cleaning is important, so I am not going to say that it isn't. However, when you have zero staff, and are pulled in every single direction, what kind of cleaning do you expect to get done? There isn't even enough time to finish what they have for you on some days, let alone think about cleaning. And there are only 8 hours do it in. Sams Club has this strange idea that we as workers can do everything. Senior workers are burned out, and are not working like they once did. You want top level workers, but don't seem to want to pay for the talented and dedicated workers you have. The long time associates are checking out, and are basically done with this company and it's antics. And then because we can't get everything done, you want to attempt to hand out coaching like Halloween candy? Seems like this company has lost it's way on so many levels. Remember one thing, Sams Club is not the only place to work, and is not the only game in town. You are losing good workers, and they are being replaced by the young generation who have no real life work experience and would much rather be on their phones than actually work. If you are ok with that, then keep doing what you are doing Sams.

It's just putting lipstick on a pig. You can't make a sh*t hole look good.

most clubs probably need some good detailed cleaning. they also need to be stocked everyday. bring back overnight stocking, return to having fresh depts come in at 5 a.m. & staff properly so people can do these things without having to rush so much.
unfortunately, this isn't happening.

Yes . besides being extremely short staffed because they never hire anyone to replace the people that leave, they are having us waste hours and hours on pulling out pallets, sweeping, moping, wiping down steel, dusting dusting and dusting. And don't forget to check off the area you've cleaned so they can come around and check your work. But let's get those scan and go's, keep the paper and water stocked, get those cold go backs, make a bale, and do member assistance with the 2.3 people we have each day.
