Thread regarding Nike Inc. layoffs

Is Nike just a cautionary tale for how we set expectations for the future of the corporate world?

So disheartening to hear and read about yet another round of layoffs at Nike. Hoping for the best for those affected.

But as to Nike, THANKS, for being the beacon of the future of corporate employment! So expertly played, how you bloat the corporate ladder with hundreds of employees with a “VP” next to their title, clearly at expense of those necessary few at all levels of the organization. A BEACON, how you can unapologetically outsource the dismantling of the organization, to those who are so expertly unequipped to know who is integral to Nike. And (if history is a guide), with complete disregard to all current employees who had to sit through and witness something no reasonable person should ever have to witness. And
then be asked to stay and soldier on. THANK YOU. The next generation needs to know these things. They need to know that, potentially, no one in the upper echelons of the organization really knows what goes on at a granular level. Thanks largely in part to the way key information is slowly diluted as it makes its way through those half dozen of unnecessary layers of “management”. Only wish most colleges would have a mandatory “What to watch out for when you place your heart and soul into the false pretense your current employer will actually repay your efforts in kind” course. But in their stead, we can only thank you, Nike, for being that beacon to guide the next generation! So, lesson learned kids? If you find yourself at a gleaming campus, where you can’t find parking because of so many dedicated close in parking spaces being taken up by upscale automotive extravagances, please limit your Kool-Aid intake to a scant single cup…
