Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

Is the CX GM Alistair leaving Cisco soon?

In a new ELT Org announcement from CR, it said

As part of this, Alistair Wildman will work with Liz in an advisory capacity as he determines his next step. I want to thank Alistair for building a world-class team – we have been very fortunate to have his leadership within the CX organization over the past six years.

That sounds like he's got one foot out the door.

remember that Alistair and Maria v2mama came together to Cisco - they go way back so whatever plans mama has, Alistair is going to be part of it

an advisory capacity as he determines his next step

This is code for "he's coming up for a big vesting/bonus payout and we're going to let him hang around until it is due".

Hahaha. You cannot find me in our CX org to touch me. From junior SE to Director in CX and banking it for the past four years. I would be grade 10/11 max if I did not move to CX. Know how manage your career. Who has more $$ in the bank now?

In CX/PX there are more worthless, brainless, shameless and racial leaders especially Engineering directors. Neither have functional nor technical knowledge, just know how to BS with ELT. Eventually kicked out but meantime robbing millions in stock grants and bonuses which impacts the hard working engineers and also leading cisco bankrupt, layoff and forced PTOs. Last 2-3 years in CX/PX they have loaded directors with no prior experience
Leadership has to take inventory of Engineering directors by taking 360 feedback and fire them. What happened Cisco's 1:8 hierarchy ? There are so many directors and Sr. product managers with 2-3 or no reports and still the whole work is done by below 9 grades. Google and Meta models are management is 20-30 whereas in Cisco CX/PX it is 60-70%. Another lay off should clean all the director sc-m and make Cisco healthy

Another muppet gone who could not make a coherent sentence in spoken form. Sadly the damage has been done.
Ah well.. such is life in Cisco a downward spiral.

CR, you had a chance and blew it. The two you moved up are also part of the problem. Resign now.

Our CX tribe will be just as strong or stronger for a few more years. We are too deeply rooted to be heavily impacted. We have way too complex of an org for anyone to be able to unravel or mess with. If drastic it will take them 4-5 years. I will move to another org by then when the economy gets better. Plenty of time.

I would not get near CX organization, tribal work is only getting worst within CX.

Sometimes you have no choice in the matter. My team's function (and team) moved, or was reorg'ed, into CX shortly after MM was hired and was starting to heavily cut people and jobs out of CX. Luckily we survived her and we were reorg'ed again, but into Operations. Didn't really matter because by that time, she was the COO and was running Operations. I'm just hoping for a better COO. Only time will tell if Thimaya will do a better, or worse, job as COO. It would be hard to do worse.

It’s a classic revolving door with musical chairs… New people get elevated to key leadership without any prior experience and just because someone pushed them up. Easy to talk leadership bullsh*t until results show otherwise. And then they get forced out & move on, pocketing millions in stock grants and bonuses, further bankrupting Cisco profits to cause another layoffs.

What qualifications Liz and Thimaya have to deserve praise and promotions? Zero customer experiences.

What role does Splunk CEO take after acquisition is complete this year?

Karma is finally coming for the Salesforce and Google cronies of Maria - should be very interesting times ahead for everyone...

If you were actually part of Cisco and read the email, you’d know that Thimaya is not going to be part of CX…troll.

I would not get near CX organization, tribal work is only getting worst within CX. All CX work will move to India putting Thimaya and Liz to CX. Run people. Cisco is setup to fail you as an employee.

Why put Liz C as the CX head…she has zero experience with Services, I can’t see what she brings to the table. Another d-mb hire, Chuck needs to be put out to pasture

If I were CR, I would not have "praised" the people that MM brought with her and touted their "experience" with Salesforce.

I'm so glad to hear that ONEx will become two separate orgs again. Can we get rid of the ONEx name now since it's no longer "ONE team"?

Thimaya is taking over as the EVP of Operations. Chuck praised his leadership of the Cisco Transformation Center, but what has it really transformed? At least for the better anyway.

A critical part of this team’s charter has been to streamline our processes, simplify our tools for productivity, and make it easier for our customers and partners to do business with us. Through this work, Thimaya has an extensive understanding of what is required to achieve success.

So, is Chuck going to wait 6 years before he decides that Thimaya's extensive understanding of what is required to achieve success doesn't match his execution? Being outside of leadership discussions, I have no idea just how good/successful Thimaya can be w/o MM driving the bus off the cliff the way she did. I wish Thimaya, and Liz, the best and pray for their success because Cisco can't afford more years of failed leadership.
