Merit Notifications starting now!

Too bad people are not going to get the 6% the company promised in memo. This co is so backwards.

At GM hr said last fall they’d budgeted for 3.5% raises for salaried employees. From what I’m seeing some are getting slightly more or less depending on where they are relative to the median in their pay grade and of course year end evaluations.

I got 3.6% merit for a below target PR rating.
I’m sorta grateful to be totally honest here even though it wasn’t 6%. Oh well. I’m not a member of the friends and family club. Never have been.

You shouldn't complain. Canadians received a 3% merit increase. Much much less than the union membership. This company has lost it's way.

@1cud, this is correct. We got approx 6% of our total teams salary to spend. Our LL4 said we could use 90% for our team but reserve 10% for him to distribute. This always ticks me off, we are a group with, dev, architects, projects managers and test, the LL4 always takes from others to give to devs since he is a former dev. Although he su-ked at it which is why he probably recognizes how good others are. He does the same with TA distribution.

In reality, if you high paid people are good performers, it’s hard to reward them because the low people contribute less $$$, but on the other hand, if you have a low paid person who is good, you can give them above average pay without taking much from others.

Every LL6+ was given a dollar amount to extend to all their team members for merit and bonus. Based on their status of above, on, or below target, the system gives a recommendation and the manager can choose to go higher or lower as long as they stay within their budget. Then their own leaders can adjust that up and down depending on if they need to move money to different teams for performance reasons. All of my ON targets got 6% or more

@1uny Most people who are at the top of their range are Friends & Family. They didn't get there by being top achievers. So I don't feel bad that they will get less.

It was confirmed that if you are at the upper end of the pay range for your salary grade then You will not get6%. Even if you rank as over achiever.

This absolutely makes no sense. This company bent backwards for the UAW but can’t do right for its salaried workforce.

We should be the ones rating our execs and their pay determined on how we think they’re performing.

Rumor is closer to 4% and 90% of the 84% bonus. I’ll know more next week.

Remember that your merit is based on dollars not percentage. We could get the same amount but percentage be wildly different depending on your current salary.

Comparing percentages will not worthwhile unless you share the dollar equivalent.

If you get less than 6%, someone is getting part of your share.

I heard the average is about 6% and not a flat merit for all
