I don't fully agree with the analysis but Cisco gets a prominent position in this video about why companies binge and purge. It's interesting how well NVIDIA is doing with such a small staff.

NVIDIA is up triple digit percentages... and we are stagnatnt. Pretty sure that's a telling sign we missed the AI bo-m
NVIDIA has been making chips capable of massively parallel computations for ages, and has continued to grow the kinds of computations those chips can do. High performance AI was almost an inevitable market for them. The numbers aren't time aligned but NVIDIA saw yoy revenue growth of 265% with ttm revenue only slightly better than Cisco, so they nearly tripled revenue from a much smaller starting point.
Google has large scale server and services experience Cisco will never have and in 2022 they were 9% of the cloud market. IBM and Oracle have systems and applications experience that Cisco will never have and they're both low single digit percentages of the cloud market. With AI, cloud and other technologies the pathologically insane seem to think that Cisco could just own markets for which they have no natural affinity. Even in market segments Cisco is already in the only reason they can report revenue growth for some of them is because those segments are growing so fast it offsets the market share loss to Cisco's competitors.
Last I checked Cisco was a top 20 tech company by both revenue and market valuation and doubling it effectively means making a whole new top 20 tech company in an unrelated market quickly enough to not only create but maintain a lead over its competitors. Few of you seem to grasp how fantastical this is.
There is a lot of hype and bubble in AI right now. Just like Cisco in 2000.
ChatGPT data is outdated, 2021. Chatgpt4 data is from April 2023. They cannot answer 60-70% of questions with accuracy.
They are all in initial phase. It will require a lot of coding and testing before it gets better. Just like the Tesla car or Boeing plane, still prone to disasters.
Multiple companies are jumping into new technologies as usual. few leaders will survive after 3-4 years.

Don’t forget …… Cisco stock had a run just like Nvidia in 90s.
Cisco is into a lot of technologies. They still are number 1 and 2 in many areas like routing (branch, enterprise & SP), switching and wireless.
Jensen Huang, with background of computer engineering, built the GPU team and products along with software platform with a long term plan of 8-10 years. He is also getting into customized chips and ARM based processors for PCs.
Cisco needs a visionary CEO and a plan to focus on the next wave of routing, switching and many other new technologies.
chocolate management may be better than vanilla management
How many meetings with redundant managers and useless assistants strategizing on future projects that they will not do any of the work?
How many useless overlays does Cisco have ....
