Thread regarding Fidelity Investments layoffs

Scatterbrained company

This company is so scatterbrained and one of the most poorly organized corporations I've been with. Just all over the place with their policies and everyone gives you a different answer. Plus the tech is garbage. No, I dont want to have to learn/use a workaround for your workaround because it broke as well lol.

I was scrolling through a forum board to see if I am the only one who can’t really put their finger on what’s wrong with Fidelity, and came upon this little description which I think succinctly gives the answer. Found here: @4gpv+1r3eM7dH

I saw a comment on another site about poor pay. Are you considering total comp package compared to other company’s’ total comp package? What percentage higher pay do you feel you should receive? What type of work do you do?

If they weren’t so greedy, if they would offer pay at market value like they say they do and train their effing employees that would be a start.

Old apps given to mostly offshore teams with little previous knowledge of the apps. They are struggling.
Majority of new hires are working on Cloud based migration.
Shortcuts being taken on both to meet delivery dates.
Morale is low in tech.

The modernization journey will take 10 to 15 years to complete and hope to be successful. In the meantime current applications are NOT maintained and customer dissatisfaction will increase. Which will come first, a successful modernization or a not so great company? Stop following and be a leader!

The tech issues and workarounds for the workarounds are just create a poor customer experience imo, amongst other things. What happened to being customer obsessed?
