Thread regarding Nike Inc. layoffs

The Hapless Defense

What I find profoundly missing from the Donahoe "game plan" of cost reduction is a fundamental change in STRATEGY. Someone from the fourth floor needs to tell me and Wall Street what was fundamentally wrong with the Category Offense? Didn't it lead to year over year growth and prosperity for over 13 years? Didn't it foster an internal culture that was diverse and thriving? Didn't consumers love it? Right now, you have layer after layer after layer of micromanaged chaos, with Design being the deer in the headlights. How is Donahoe still the CEO? How is Heidi O'Neil still in a position of leadership? Bueller?

Yes this current setup does not work.

Categories brought clarity to complexity.

JD doesn’t get the biz and focuses on bs digital tactics that insignificantly move the needle.

Wholesale partners? They are gone forever.
