A huge amount of Tech being laid off this morning. A friend messaged me that she was laid off around 8:45am this morning and supposedly to hundreds of other Tech folks. Just awful.

Which Tech department? Is it in Boston or NC and what her role or level ??

70,000 employees looks like 5% reduction in force so 3,500-4,000 or more depending on how you count the 1000 employees from international.
Reading that it’s significantly more than 700 people being let go.
It’s a bloodbath!
