Thread regarding Ford layoffs

If you quit do you still get a bonus?

Hey everyone, I’ve been getting mixed answers here regarding the bonus. I’m hoping the record can be straight here. I quit a couple months ago and worked at Ford for all of 2023. Would I still be able to receive the 2023 bonus? I’m not expecting it but some people told me yes, some people told me no. Have any of you quit and still received it?

You quit on April 1st when your bonus hits your bank account

I voluntarily left last month for greener pastures, and my bank account is empty this morning. No direct deposit for me. But who knows if I'll receive something in the mail in a couple of weeks - I'm not counting on it.

I was wondering why I got a check direct deposited yesterday. I thought it was an error. I didn’t quit, though, I was laid off.

Thanks for all the information everyone! Last question on this topic. For those of you who left and got a bonus, did you get it from direct deposit or paper check?

Involuntary isn't true. People laid off the last two years have received prorates bonuses.

Reading the fine print ... Looks like if you retire before the end of the year, then you are eligible to be considered for a prorated bonus award. If you voluntarily quit or are involuntarily let go, then you are not eligible.

Yeah I got nothing today. Unless they are sending me a paper check, won’t get my hopes up

I’m an LL6 in PD, yes, former employees who worked the previous year get an AICP payout unless they were let go with cause. We had to drop our budget by the amount these former employees got and distribute the rest to those who remain. To be clear though, we did get $$$ for the people who had left, so it’s not like teams who had people leave got sc--wed, but neither do they get extra money to spend.

In practice, HR worked with our LL4 to do the math so we didn’t have to figure out how many days they worked and what their bonus was. It can get complicated if a person was promoted mid year and had two different bonus rates and then also left.

If you left last year, you can expect a deposit in your account you got paid in tomorrow on the mid March pay date.

No, usually you have to be on the payroll on the day they issue the bonus.

That's how they save money through this practice. And that's why certain OEMs get rid of people right before the bonus payout

I did not get my bonus when I quit for before year end. I quit in December and Ford did not give me the bonus.

Check HR Online policy first.
