IMO, I think creating Corporates is and always was a big mistake. Selling products to lawyers to help law firms generate revenue is not the same as trying to sell that same software to Legal Departments, where department staff are cost centers. Legal departments support the business to mitigate costs or generate revenue. Same thing for in-house accountants. If you don't understand how your customer fits into the creation of revenue for a business, you don't understand how to develop, produce, and sell products to those customers.
I think it is as simple as that. Bad decision-making over time, where the focus has been tweaking the business to improve stock performance. It's not been about developing quality products, providing quality training or customer support, and it certainly isn't about encouraging and nurturing its workforce to think or create.
