Thread regarding L3Harris Technologies layoffs

Thoughts on Kubasik and Rambeau's memo regarding the RIF?

Kubasik's memo mentioned that RIF will impact approximately 5% of the company THIS YEAR. So does that mean this week's RIF met that 5%? or there's more this year since we are only in April.

Rambeau's memo mention that he was going to meet with his leaders on Friday to get their feedback and answer questions. Uhh.. shouldn't this meeting have taken place BEFORE the layoff decision? Did his leaders not know how things will go down this week beforehand and how people will respond?

The message was “no more planned layoffs in 2024.”
After the Friday Leadership meeting they again emphasized that there aren’t any planned layoffs for 2024. Instead they will focus on “regional consolidations, reducing spending on supply chain, and reduction of travel.”

Perhaps we should all raise this question to our leaders on Monday

There was a RIF in March. So maybe this one in April and the one in March made the 5%?

SAS alone had 3% and L3Harris had 5% as a whole.

No. We only did 3% on Thursday.

How many times have I, an old dinosaur, seen a significant layoff, followed by management assurances that there would be no more layoffs, followed by another round (and sometimes another round after that)?
