Check your 401k now, you should be back where you were because of the market, not a single company move.

Call Fidelity and ask them to automatically move your match provided in company stock”

I did and was told that the company match portion is locked by the company policy, restrictions L3H put on it.

Call Fidelity and tell them you want the money back.

You absolutely have a choice what you invest in. I’ve been with the company 10+ years and have 0% in company stock. If you lost 5% change your elections.

Call Fidelity and ask them to automatically move your match provided in company stock to something else. Then you're protected and don't have to think about it or do anything further to make it happen.

You're also not being forced into participating in an employer retirement plan, you are given that opportunity for get "free" money in the employer match, but you could just as easily take your money and invest it where ever you want. In fact take advantage of the employer 401k but also invest in other resources for your retirement.

Don't look at short term losses, look at long term gains.

I would appreciate you not calling anyone stupid about the stock, we were automatically put into the stock we did not have a choice, so that comment was unwarranted!

unionized employees are able to select portfolios that do NOT include company stock. our 3 percent match is in the form of money towards that investment. I retired from the company with a half million dollar balance after 20 years of service and none of it contains company stock. I could have included it in my choices but decided not to.

Our company match invests with the company automatically unless we are already maxed out in the company based on IRS limits. Then the excess goes to other positions. We don't have a choice.

what kind of stupid a-s invests their 401 with their employer? Never invest your retirement money with your own employer. if the company goes belly up you lose your job and your savings on the same day. invest in stocks OUTSIDE your company.

Actually Wall Street LOVES layoffs. And a lot of stocks got hammered this week.
