CSO VP Rich Baich has made quite a few changes. Was wondering if anyone had any insight into planned layoffs? My manager is useless when it comes to informing our team of what's going on. Maybe it's because he doesn't even know. Anyone have anything to share?

with CSO things are very ironical ..
on one side their role these days is(or rather it should be) more important then ever as security challenges become real
on the other, the level of uselessness is astounding - I'd let them all go and hire from scratch
Baich is your typical wolf in sheep's clothes. Says one thing to lower levels and other things to higher ups. Never records or broadcasts his "ask me anything" so you never know what he says to anyone else. All the firings have been on the hush.
He also never seems to stay at places long for someone at his level. And the ones he's been at have had questionable scandals in the past. So you have to wonder if he's the hired g-n.
As bad as it is, would rather hear someone say bad news than not hear anything when you know things are happening behind the scenes.
Most managers below AVP or Director level are in the dark about what’s going on until, they are told nearly last minute during their weekly calls. I usually know more of what’s going on, at any given time than my manager does. He asks me if I know what is new or about to happen, sad state of affairs
Any hope for a US-based employee to transfer into a CSO role? Why would he shut out internal transfers if not?
planned layoffs are subject to results of upcoming environment impact studies of RTO.
All hirings (which aren't happening except new VPs but am sure they won't talk about that in any diversity hiring slides) have to be outside hires.
Outside hirings means off shore hires in the Legg org. They don't want internal hires because their goal is simply to get rid of people.
But they make awesome videos that always win in Legg’s end of the year all hands meetings. Some talented people there.
Actually, no longer. If you wonder why you haven't seen Murray, they even laid him off and am guessing all the talented people that created him. Part of the Baich firings.

Yes. Everyone.
“They haven't been backfilling for the last six years.”
Management overtime is always approved.
When RTO is all said and done, my group in CSO will lose 75% of staff all while our workload is tripling with no backfill. They haven't been backfilling for the last six years. And you wonder why customer data gets exposed.

CSO is definitely subject to RTO. Supervisors of Wave 2 people are being pushed to get people off payroll sooner rather than EOY.
Rich is not big on sharing so it's entirely possible that your supervisor doesn't know the specifics.
You should start with one AVP which came recently from cybersecurity
OP here. The person who said he’s OP is not the OP. I love this site
It’s clear the OP is a top performer!
I'm the OP... and wow, I'm really sorry I posted anything to this toxic group. I was hoping for some honest information. There wasn't any. Just people blaming a lot of other hard working people for some sc--w ups which were most likely not even CSO's fault. CSO doesn't run the operations in this company. And then the lies. Anyway, this is the last time I ever visit this site. It's worse then the actual company.
It’s too bad for non-bargained for employees getting the ATT shaft while unionized employees jobs are relatively safe at least for this year!
Yes, whole groups are being surplussed if they don't move to hubs.
CSO needs some serious house cleaning since there are way too many employees that would rather be terminated from this company than still be employed. They're just hanging around waiting for a layoff notice with a severance check attached! If T really wanted to get rid of a large bulk of employees, it would poll CSO employees and ask who want to leave! The numbers would be staggering!
No one watches CSO. Sham organization that drains the company coffers under the guise that it is preventative but has standards that are 20 years old.
Over 70 million customers had personal information compromised during the recent security breach. Were any resignations tendered in CSO?
We can’t keep our data secure, but we can sell security!
Is a cloudless sky blue?
I was told the 10th.
Does anyone have any level of confidence at all in T’s security department?
Someone I know was in that leak and signed up for the credit monitoring. When he looked at the report on the service, while the name, email, and phone number were correct (and not hard for anyone to know), the SS# they gave (last 4 only) isn't his, or anyone in his family's. All passwords have been changed multiple times since 2019, so not a big concern.
Yes.
Should be, after a 2019 hack of all customer personal info. Gonna cost at&t at least half a billion in settlements and fines, over next few years. Walk the plank.
