Post here if you've received the axe or know others who have. Let's see if we can get a general sense of how deep this cut is and which teams were affected. Good luck everyone!

They have laid off CC leads in Michigan. Most meetings are happening at 3 pm today. HSM seem to be safe.
Has anyone heard anything about the layoffs tomorrow July 18th
I don't know what's happening but I just saw a "meeting" invite from no one identified for the 4/18 and only thing in it is subject "RIF". I'm concerned for a few obvious reasons but main was is they used my old email not the Optum one so do they think I'm still associated with that older company? I'll be making a few calls today.
Any layoffs for July?
Is anyone having issues getting their unemployment insurance benefits?
Any news on July 18 layoffs?
Yes. The severance affects the unemployment. I was approved for unemployment but won’t get it because my severance was more than the unemployment maximum amount for me.
Is anyone having a problem getting their unemployment benefits?
Haven’t received severance yet but was approved for unemployment.
I haven’t received my severance. The automatic reply said “Please allow 2-3 pay periods for your payment to be processed.” 🙄
4-18-2024 layoff anyone received the severance package yet?
I was impacted and know of at least 15-20 others who were let go. I wish some notice was given that this was coming.
I did
Heard more layoffs in July from REPUTABLE source on the inside…..do us ALL a favor and just do it now. Oh, right, you have to do this little by little because of the WARN act for which you’re being sued for violating. Disgusted for having joined this company…. like so many people have pointed out, Landmark is gone. This is Optum now - a cut throat company, focused solely on the bottom who don’t give a S&$@ about patients.
I work for a company that was bought out by Optum and recently was laid off while I was out on PTO. I found out approximately 190 people lost jobs not in California location.
Optum New York layoff, August 2023. Forced to work from home and mandatory overtime to get ready to have our jobs in AR and coding outsourced to other countries. USA should not be allowing this! We keep giving our jobs in manufacturing and now any job that can be done from home to other countries.
Goooooood luck if you work with any business acquired by UHG/Optum. There IS a 2024 plan being followed and the axe will fall, quarter by quarter. No position is safe. No job is guaranteed. Read carefully: Any business that was acquired by UHG/Optum will be cannibalized and redundant positions will continue to be eliminated. They have your data, which is what they wanted in the first place. If the position already exists in Optum there is no reason a duplicate is needed. Your leaders will not be engaging in communication and have been warned they will be removed from their positions if they attempt to provide details. They don't know it but their positions are targeted for termination once UHG/Optum has su-ked the last bit of meat off the bones. The longer they hang on (and continue to assure you they are being transparent), the higher the value of their severance package (which they mistakenly think is going to be a bonus and continued employment). Why are they hanging on to the few positions that will remain at the end of the year? Why indeed. If you really need to keep paying rent, make car payments, keep food on the table for your family, then I wish that you start planning to get settled somewhere else. Don't risk finding yourself without a job during the holiday season.
The ultimate goal is to eliminate HBMC completely.
They are placing APCs in MD roles. This is a liability not only for the APCs, but for the patients.
This will cost them in the end.
July and November are the next waves of layoffs.
We all should quit. Let the big dogs knock on a door or two. Complete BS.
3 out of 6 of us got laid off just on one team.
And its the utter silence that's ki-ling me. No info, mass group meeting lay off, then nothing! TEAMS is not even pinging, still getting calls and questions from providers though!! Feels like I've been excommunicated.
Any confirmation of the next roles to go and when?
I 😘 at my job a couple weeks. So much streamlining. Yet they still promote into management
Landmark Hilliard Ohio had sick witches doing spells on employees and putting voodoo in food so it’s their turn but for everyone else something better awaits
All the nurse practitioners need to RUN. Talk about doing more with less. We keep hearing about all the new open recs for positions, yet we have had open recs for MONTHS with NPs backing out last minute. We will get no more help and have to do more while maintaining already inflated patient panels with no scheduling availability for over a month out. Patients can’t be seen who really need it. How is that making the patients a priority? Also since this all happened, no updates from anyone on the new plan or structure. We are just the blind leading the blind over here at Optum…
Su-ks for those left over who weren’t selected on this go around. Your backs are only gonna get heavier and the BS job duties/expectations will continue to be exploited
Pretty large reduction in Michigan on the 18th and as of today no real game plan. Let go include ambassadors, medical directors, senior management and other positions which in retrospect seemed just busy work. Those let go are working until 5/2 and get 3 weeks severance. The rest of us are being told our new responsibilities will be rolled out “soon”. A lot of questions are going unanswered by management. Either they are in the dark or there’s worse to come. In the meantime we’re still doing work for positions that will no longer exist soon.
There is no way NOT to take it personally when your position goes away and you get a downsizing notice. Totally agree with the "tough love" statements said above where the bloated company with so many levels and duplicity HAD to change and this and more downsizings are needed and necessary. Add to this the HUGE reduction in Medicare Advantage reimbursement from the Biden administration/CMS and this is even more necessary. It feels heartless and brutal because it is...It is a business decision and unfortunately a reality of corporate jobs when the organization has overgrown and is inefficiently set up. It has to change and will be better for it. A huge lesson here is to not be a "one trick pony" so you can redeploy to other roles or jobs, otherwise this is always going to be a real possibility. Totally feel compassion for those getting notified but as someone who has had this happen in the past to me there is always another role and job. Your employer is NOT your family...they can replace you and you can replace them.
Excited to see Business Group on Health naming united health optum as a Best Employer: Excellence in Health & Well Being. Also very courteous to remind me via email, after being laid off last week.
They eliminated home based health in half the markets and replacing physicians with nurse practitioners
Several employees and myself in the Las Vegas market got laid off on 4/18/24. I’m sure there are many more that I just don’t know about. I’m wondering if Nevada has the warn act and if there is any case open yet. We were given zero notice of termination. They should be giving 2 months of severance instead of one since there was not a 60 day notice.
Landmark is a place where leaders know how to speak very well. When it comes to plans and ideas, they have no clue what so ever. It is mind boggling. And their arrogance pretending to know anything is infuriating.
Did Harrison resign?
For18 years a diligent and committed employee => dissolved. just like that
Harrison Frist from "Care Transitions" part of Optum resigned today. Used to be Navihealth. Optum is destroying decent companies.
If you’re one of the few still left. Let them have it on the May survey. Be our voice.
Wow, our lead sr engineer got laid off (4/18) and now they're putting all the weight and pressure on us few other members of the team for this project to scramble the pieces and deliver without any delays, even disrespectfully addressing us and belittling the work we do. They required us to deliver in like 3 months which is already tight to begin with. We are not the ones that laid our SR LEAD close to project delivery - Wow Optum, respected you before but not at all anymore. No one actually cares about the employees here.
I get the horrible feelings when your position goes away in a layoff…But do you people posting here realize the existential issue going on with V.28 and the dramatic reduction in CMS reimbursement for Medicare Advantage? Do you realize that the way UHG and Optum (specifically OptumCare) does healthcare delivery HAS to change with the new reduced CMS reimbursement? You can complain all you want but the reality is the current administration’s push to CMS to reduce the reimbursement is what is driving all of this. You think this is being done because the company is heartless and mean? No, it is basic cost vs reimbursement/revenue. I get you can cathartically yell on this site but be honest about why this is really occurring.
Truly hope that OPTUM goes under 100%. Heartless, solace, faceless entities that don’t have the BA--S Landmark employees and pass down the responsibilities of link people off to Landmark management. Literally, you are a disgrace to the healthcare industry and healthcare advocates Are 150% attempting to ensure that you do not monopolize Massachusetts. You’re all sickening and disgusting at best. I hope you all burn in he-l.
I work for Optum MedExpress in both urgent care and primary care. We were told all MedExpress employees last day will be July 18th. At least we got three months experience. We were so busy, many patients, pitiful. They called a mandatory meeting and two women told us medical care is quickly changing and they were changing too - eliminating our positions. Cold, harsh, zero transparency.
As I read these comments it seems to me that this was orchestrated across multiple departments, segments, etc. We all have 5/2 as our last day.
I was layed off on 4/18/2024. RN on Virtual Triage line since 2020. Worked to death and treated like cr-p on a daily basis. LOL Not a shocker! Thrilled to get the boot, very unethical company that lies and does everything it possibly can to keep you in the dark!
