Doesn't matter how angry you are. Cutting cables and putting people's lives at risk is NOT cool.

2nd time this has happened in last ~4 years to same single-threaded cable route near SMF.
Yes should be a diverse route at an airport. Welcome to 2024 where single thread Ethernet services have replaced the sonet ring. D-mb stuff people do to save money.
Corn Pop is the prime suspect. Sleepy Joe is on the case
Sheriff’s report states they cut wires/lines (plural) so, there goes your ring. Below is T’s statement.
A statement from AT&T reads:
"We’ve restored internet and wireless service to affected customers in the Sacramento International Airport area following a fiber cut which appears to be an act of vandalism or attempted theft. We appreciate the patience of our customers as we worked to make repairs as quickly as possible."
No ring? No diverse route at an airport?
Wonder how long it would have taken to be repaired if the Union was on strike and the CP force was working it? The union contract is expired as of April 7 so, they could have a work stoppage at any given moment since, the company hasn’t come to an agreement.
I agree with the last post, It happens all the time in the SE too. most cuts never make the news. That’s why in some crucial areas the cables are buried or highly secure. This same kind of report could have stated a subdivision or business park instead, of an airport on nearly a daily basis.
It’s just getting some news because it happened at an airport and people were inconvenienced also, elected officials never miss an opportunity to get in the news or make a statement for political reasons.
A cable was cut in California and you think was an ATT technician?
Lmao! You clearly have no idea what’s going on.
This happens every single day in CA. Trust me bro, I am in a position to know.

They dont want to invest in burying.
Copper cable thieves have been cutting cables for decades. It happens more frequently when times get tough, like the last few years of high inflation that is outpacing wages. It’s nearly impossible to sell copper wire these days with all the changes in the scrapping laws. It still doesn’t fix stupid but it’s slowed them down. Fiber cables have also been cut in cases of mistaken identification, they thought it was copper.
As homelessness rises along with, the defunding of law enforcement or not enforcing laws with punitive measures, will only give rise to more crime and embolden criminals. Expect crime to also rise with the illegal immigration invasion by the millions, with catch and release also, bad people are entering the country unchecked. They keep revising the numbers upward and they really don’t know how many.
Did what?
Most likely a top performer.
Loln.
At best it's felony vandalism and at worst it's domestic terrorism. The fact that US transportation infrastructure was affected should make it count as terrorism. Jail the sh-----d(s) for five or six years as an example and maybe someone else will display a little self-control.
