Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

Polaris. How will head count look like when it is all done?

When the Polaris project is done. How will head count be affected?

Looked JU up on LinkedIn.
She’s a parasite the comes in as the sharp edge of the sword to help enact layoffs and closing of facilities. She’s now working with the kindergartners in India to take more of your jobs away.
The type that will do anything to get the next promotion and bundle of RSUs.

“Business transformation” for now, but eventually to protect the PDS of its executives and sponsors, de-scoped over time to just another ERP upgrade

Polaris is United's business class and of course, we all love to travel care of ExxonMobil. That's the only Polaris I know of!

“Polaris” should have been named “Skynet”.

It will become fully aware and attack its creators.

Polaris will be a useless piece of $hit….people are staking their careers on this with billions spent and billions lost. It seems to be the key to solving the EM equivalent of world hunger. Has anyone heard any real value or just PDS BS?

Spending in excess of 2 billion USD, rest assured headcount reduction is factored into the “returns” on this massive investment…

Remember India is still in early stage of unrestrained capitalism, unlike EM's past inexpensive non-carbon (i.e., human) resource exploits in Eastern Europe (pretty much shut), then Brasil/Argentina (shutting).
At this early stage in the system, not only are the newly white-collar workers cheaper by far, but also far more enthused and humbly greedy for the things folks like US/EU/Brasil, etc. take for granted. Productive.
After India, who knows where the profit hogs will turn next?
EM not at all unique, btw.

Polaris was the name of the first thermonuclear missiles on board the US Navy submarines.
The effect of the project on headcount will be about the same. Let alone a potential major disruption of basic corporate functions. If you want a flavor of it, see how the outsourcing of payables to some MSP is going... 😀

Exactly. Willing to bet “advisor” in Brazil/Argentina means “advise Indians on how to do your job before we close the office. But don’t worry, you’ve been promoted to advisor .” Get out while you still can folks

Ah-ha! Hence the advisor titles in Argentina and Brazil! See previous post. It all tracks. Argentina and Brazil to be deleted soon .

Consolidation of the current regional business centers into a single business center. My bet would be on Bengaluru. The others will disappear.

OP WHAT DO YOU THINK WILL HAPPEN? Project Polaris is being developed to reduce headcount. EVERYTHING THAT'S BEING DONE RIGHT NOW IS TO REDUCE HEADCOUNT FURTHER. This shouldn't be a surprise to anyone by now. Darren wants to fire you. Period. He wants you out.

What and where is Polaris? Oil, gas, LNG?

I hope it is not some new computer program that will revolutionize projects and cut construction costs by 20% by easing flow of information and increasing communication.

I had a supervisor that thought Sharepoint would impact project cost and schedule. She probably still believes it. Cannot fix stupid.
