AT&T back at it again with their “tricks” and our so called CWA decided to make this agreement behind our backs. For those that don’t know the story, AT&T is forcing reps on the Southwest contract to convert to the horrible Purple contract or take a surplus. The announcement was announced this past Friday 04/19 but our beloved CWA made an agreement since February to make this change and kept it hidden from its reps who actually pay their dues. They want to come at us and say they did this to save our jobs when we all know CWA works with AT&T over its own members. Us tenured reps are no longer able to have our pension grow and sales reps are no longer able to get commission. They give us a notice and demand an answer in 10 days lol. How ridiculous does that sound? I’m glad I’m within 2 years of retirement to take a leave absence option but I feel horrible for my peers that have no choice but covert to this new contract. I can guarantee once you all convert, they will then surplus you again and pay out less benefits. We’re all just a number to AT&T and the union and the fact that some of you still don’t know that is crazy to me. The funniest thing was when we had our official meeting for this announcement, our managers gave us 30 minutes max and I kid you not that at the 31st minute they told us that we went over time and we need to get back to work due to “needs of the business” I literally laughed my butt off after hearing that. But for those that continue the work I salute you, but don’t let the company or union tell you we did this for you because they did it for themselves. YOU ARE JUST A NUMBER AND EASILY REPLACEABLE!

REPLYING TO THIS!!! “One of my coworkers told me today, "I don't know how much longer I can take this rat-infested, broken AC, non-commission paying place!" The funny thing is that it's all absolutely true except for instead of rats it's actually mice”
But the mice bring us well me pleasure watching everyone scream like lil baby girls when they show up. I mean it’s not everyday you see a 6’5 fat guy perform a high jump world record over a 2 ounce rodent. Give that man a medal. But to add to the lack of care for us. We never have toilet paper, paper towels. The urinal in the men’s bathroom drips orange water onto our manhoods. Just down the road is the Remnants of the manhattan project, managers show up with Covid and get us all sick. So they should already be saving money by not letting us work in a safe ethical environment. Oh speaking of safe. Across our parking lot is a dr-g ring where there’s constant mu---r. Our cars get broken into all the time and stolen. I had $2000 worth of merch stolen and damage done to my car. They didn’t care and said so be it. We had a crazy dr-g lady shatter a window and break in looking for her cell phone. We’ve had a bo-b threat. Our security guard on weekends are a 70 year old lady with a walker. I feel so safe. Yes I know this has nothing to do with the McDonald Grimmace contract BS. But it just shows that the company and union could gives a mouse’s p-o trail about us. We’ve complained numerous times and deaf ears from both sides.

Instead of talking take action
Complete BS what they’re doing to us. Losing my commission as an LSR is a big blow to the pocket book. Literally going to force me out of my house I just bought that I can’t afford with this horrid purple contract. Maybe those who are already on it are happy with it. But let’s cut your pay by almost $30,000 raise the costs of insurance and then see how you feel!!! AT&T and the CWA can go su-k a big fat pile you know what.
“ 24 years in the purple mobility contract - it is not that bad lol”
24 years…ge-z did you not have any career goals ?
Y’all are a bunch of entitled, unappreciative cowards! Walk across the street and go tell the union how you really feel instead of HIDING behind your phone making all these comments. I dare you! And while you’re at it, tell off your managers too via email and CC Stankey as they were the masterminds behind this!!
The only other core job available is Prem tech & other core jobs scarce to nonexistent, so I'm guaranteed my service rep pay, no more raises but will get a 3-5% "bonus" every year, ability to get incentives, stay here in San Antonio, yes my current pension will freeze and need to start a new purple one, yes i understand the possibility of additional surpluses, initially was frustrated with the announcement but now I'm okay with it, I don't meet the rule of 75 yet until 4 more years
Smh life changing
Severance is worse.
This is not the first time the union has decided something on their own without consulting the membership. We are no longer allowed to vote on anything like in the past. Why did they not inform membership when the company first decided to do this. They kept it pretty quiet.

(Collects union tears in a jar)
So… when is your “strong” union walking off the job?
Don’t forget that you pay them for this.
UAW union leadership thought they were untouchable too. Didn’t work out well for them, that’s how the members were able to direct vote in Shawn Fain after the corruption scandal from the old guard. What happened after that?
FIle a complaint with the NLRD, National Labor Relations Board and tell them how your union is complicit with AT&T and not working in the best interest of the union members.
What can you expect from CWA?
Don't sign anything till the last day!! No need to give company or union heads up on anything. No one gave us a heads up or consulted with us. Don't sign new mobility card .
How funny... get used to it this statement within the purple contract " Mangement reserves the right to manage the business". Go ahead and file your meaningless grievance and board charge, won't hold any merit.
It’s time to file a complaint with the National Labor Board and consult with a labor attorney. No doubt this was “acting in bad faith”. Didn’t involve the membership at all, whom they are supposed to represent, this is too big of a decision for a few representatives to make on their own, it affects and changes working conditions, rules, etc.. No discussion, voting or polling of the members.
Thankful for a job that we can loose next year. When they push us out . A tittle with little to no protections. Union d-mbfounded!! There is no strong union anymore.
We should all get together and sue union acting in bad faith for us. We had no say so in this big decision. Labor board. Reports! They did it all under the table!!
I don’t see why everyone is so upset. We can all work for 3rd party sellers, in Targets, at Fry’s etc. we may not make as much hourly but we can tell customers anything we want with no repercussions. Think of the commissions!
Won’t someone think of the children!!
WTF. Strike baby Strike! Grab the worthless SBC clown show by the short hairs and don’t let go!
I’m glad I’m within 2 years of retirement to take a leave absence option
What does "within 2 years of retirement" mean?
You're within two years of 59.5?
You're within two years of social security retirement age?
You're within two years of modified rule of 75?
Doesn't being out over 90 days push back your NCS?
Id--t union! The company just steamrolled over Cwa!!!
There are 2 mobility techs here in town versus 150 plus in core!!!
I am sure that’s similar
Numbers everywhere else!
Now if you add the service reps with core that was a force to reckon with under our contract!!
Now that we don’t have the reps they will try and sc--w us even more on the negotiations since we have less membership!!
Cwa always doing stupid sh1t!!
“ Imagine the losers in management crying about reporting to the office every day.”
Image the pathetic union slugs waiting for the inevitable concessions that include reduced benefits, no job security and laughable pay. Yeah you’re a special type of union goof, and I mean “special”.
Is it too late to get out of the Union? It’s truly a waste of money at this point.
No reason to blame members' ( service reps, leverage, senior consultants or clerks) employees are not to blame. . The company has made bad decisions, first with T - mobile then dtv. We the employees are paying for bad decisions the company made and the att executives are still getting their bonuses. The stock is at a all time low 16 dollars . While t mobile over 100 and Verizon about 40 dollars . Shame shame same on them and the new district 6 Vice President. The new district 6 vp made a bad decision as well with this Moa. The past union officials tried to get Mobilty under the terms of the core contract not the other way around . We will be losing all our protections. Please ask your local Presidents if they voted for this new District 6 vp. They are going to try to sell us this bill of goods, so put your boots on. Shame on the company and shame on the Union!!
Imagine the losers in management crying about reporting to the office every day.
The union says saving jobs. The new elect Vice President came from state workers . He didn't come from bell. When he got elected we knew we might get scr*wed but not this bad. When we go to the new contract how long will it be before they get us out the door . The mobility call center reps makes 650 a week. We will make close to 40. How many months will it be before they step us out the door, for being too heavy. Open your eyes people the union and company did us no favors. The moved leverage to highest pay and union will get more union dues off us. They will get double the union dues now. Where is the fairness from the union and the company with this crazy Moa.
“ If you're 25+ years with the company and still sitting in an office chair collecting a paycheck then you're the reason why this is happening. So look around who you sit with at work and thank them for this”
We have another dooooouchhe of the week winner…tool
“ If you're 25+ years with the company and still sitting in an office chair collecting a paycheck then you're the reason why this is happening.”
What? Someone who started at 18-20yrs old still has kids in middle or high school! Mid 40’s is not retirement age!
Would anyone like to share any positive benefits to stay with the company ? For someone that has 20yrs and is ineligible to retire yet. I’m sure union reads these post and can shed some light .
If you're 25+ years with the company and still sitting in an office chair collecting a paycheck then you're the reason why this is happening. So look around who you sit with at work and thank them for this
These pension sponges need to leave. One rep that just received 30 years with the company and they are NEVER at work, always out on disability . Another 42 plus years and can’t even meet ranking. Channel Support with no incoming customer contact and “fix” orders. Then we have Collections. They get paid to do payment arrangements. That is NOT worth a pension with $32+ an hour. YOU are all the reason for this. Payroll/Pension waste.
“ Cry me a river. You’re part of the reason why they’re switching contracts.”
Doooochbag of the month winner.
Explain to us how a contractual pension benefit is being “milked” and “undeserved”. You are either a company troll or was employed at a later date when the terms changed for new hires. Nobody likes that that businesses have gone away from defined retirement plans, aka.. pensions. Your anger is misplaced so, look towards those who did away with it, company leadership. Bargained aren’t the only ones with pension plans, all of Ma Bell employees used to get pensions before HR and leadership figured out a way to let the employee self-fund most of their retirement, aka…401k.
Nothing surprises me anymore with the immoral, unethical and failed SBC “leadership”. The bills continue to come due because of poor decisions but it doesn’t stop their greed and hubris towards the “human capital”.
Vote the CWA leaders out, if what reported is true. They don’t deserve their positions if they aren't informing or allowing the members to be part of the process involving their jobs, it’s called acting in bad faith which, could result in lawsuits.
Cry me a river. You’re part of the reason why they’re switching contracts. All you old heads just milking the pension you guys don’t even deserve and want to cry that the company and your union are still offering you a job. Be thankful!
