Lowering the EV accident rate

If Hertz could find some way to lower the EV accident rate, it could keep more EVs in its fleet as rentals and wouldn't have to rush to sell them at fire sale prices.

Redditor jetylee has a suggestion: "Quick written test about charging standards, plugs, one pedal driving. A quick road test due to the instant torque."

Hertz employees don't have time to administer road tests, but maybe Hertz could develop some kind of EV driving simulation and ask customers to pass a test on its website before renting an EV. Developing this would take money, time, and effort, but it could be cheap compared to the cost of repairing EVs. Customers who pass the test (with both basic EV knowledge and simulated driving sections) would probably be more likely to be satisfied EV rental customers than customers who don't pass the test.
