Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Internet Problems for the last week

I called AT&T and their auto system wants to reset my modem.
OK.
All of my internet devices have been dropping all day.
I call back & AT&T wants to reset my modem again. I've done this 3 times so far. So NO..
I call back & I tell the support person & she says "So what do U want me to do"? I respond,
fix your internet and she says I'll have to transfer you. OK. Transfer me.
I've been on hold for 56 minutes.
Note to John Stankey:
Did you terminate everyone who can solve this issue?
Is their anyone left there that can provide customer service?
Do you want me to pay for NO SERVICE?
Will I get a refund for lack of service?
Can I type this before my PC drops AGAIN?

OP here. Just to clarify, I’m a customer, not one of you union or manager slack offs. Treat your customer with respect here or I’ll go to Verizon!!

OP here. My phone service had issues all day today. No one here offered help. No one cares. What is wrong with you people?

I checked around here at the office. I’ll let you know what they say about your internet after they get back from 18 holes.

It’s a shame that you think you matter as a customer to T…

This isn’t just an AT&T issue, it’s a corporate America offshoring and now automated AI issue that began a long time ago. It took T a while to catch up to the other guys in being customer no service. If you think T is bad try calling in for an issue with Comcast, good luck getting it corrected within a week or two or three.

This is true. I know how to troubleshoot. I am calling in after I have done that.

Our 401k is through Fidelity and ever single time I call them I’m blown away at how excellent their customer service is.

You know what sets it apart?

  1. The person is kind and polite.
  2. The person is obviously American and speaks English well.
  3. The person is knowledgeable.

Thats it. Sounds simple right? Not for ATT.

It’s the exact opposite. Some person in another country with lots of background noise who doesn’t know anything.

Losers.

Call John Stankey. There’s no one left at ATT but him.

Ask that they send you a new modem.
They are supposed to schedule a tech visit if they can’t fix it.

Much worse when you are working from home that day. Maybe they are telling you something?

Standard procedure for USA support - accidentally drop the call when the problem is too difficult.

standard procedure for companies that don't want you to reach a real person.
Reset and hope it fixes it.

Unfortunately this one isn't unique to AT&T but will only get worse as the India call centers turn up in greater numbers. Try calling AT&T benefit center and they give you the equivalent of "reset" and tell you to call back in a week.
