Someone commented "$277 fee for gas in a Tesla….really" when Hertz updated its Facebook cover photo on May 14
Someone at Hertz responded with "We would love to look into this for you. Please DM us your reservation number, your full name and relation to the primary renter for further assistance. Thank you!"
There are lots of comments about the Joshua Lee incident on Hertz's Facebook page. Here is another example:
Someone wrote
Did Hertz really charge customer to fill Tesla with Gas hmmmm???- - - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GoVzMRKwXK8
on Hertz's post "Winners of Spa!!" (May 11)
A good way to respond to this kind of comment would be something like "If you are referring to the incident in which Joshua Lee was erroneously charged for refueling a Tesla Model 3, please be aware that Hertz has already apologized to Mr. Lee and refunded the erroneous charge."
It would be great if Hertz could also say something like, "Hertz is conducting an internal review of its billing practices" and "the person responsible for the erroneous charge has been assigned additional training" (or "the person responsible for the erroneous charge is no longer with the company")
