Former EMCer - 27 years at the company- WFRed in August as part of a commitment to use partners. Spoke with some friends still there. Nothing has changed, still chaotic as ever. My job has opened- company has ordered that only internal candidates from the Inside sales teams are to be considered.
Would you want to work for a company like this?

A Legacy EMC tu-d complaining about partners taking his job is HILARIOUS. You people are the reason that the Channel got a leg up in the first place. I lock resellers out wherever possible.
Dell was always full of yes men. Knuckle draggers. EMC far different and very professional. Left after 20 years. Good payoff. Walked straight into an executive role, 120% salary increase. Dell is a ripoff
Just said goodbye to 25-years ex-EMCer . He's over in his mid 50s and with not much prospects onto , just passing by till retirement .
Got very good package and moves on with some 3-months time to ki-l holidaying somewhere warm this time of the year
Sad but truth - if you don't go up , you being taken out . Seeing old friends go is hard for these staying behind.

What don’t you understand about my post. It’s an i9 req and the hiring manager told me he’s being pressured to take some college kids out of this program. Even if they are i5 they are taking i9 roles so hiring isn’t internal only. They will hire cheap college graduates over internal employees.

Not true. There’s a program in the US I forget the name but they hire students straight out of college and that is being pushed over internal hires for many jobs. Even high level jobs, I was interviewing for i9 equivalent and was told this by the hiring manager.
