So it looks like Wegmans is interested in the Cranberry area for a new store. It is about time. If this happens it will just be a matter of time before Wegmans moves into Pittsburgh.

Thought I would share some information with you all as it seems nobody else came here to share.
It looks like the wegmans to Cranberry move is just about dead.
I’m been hearing the layoff rumors too, and watching intently.
Hearing it won't be the location by the Lemieux Sports Complex, as that area is blocked. Probably why Wegmans won't officially announce I guess.
Competition is good for a market. GE still has good sales and it looks like it will be paying out at target bonus this year. Good 2nd half bounce back by the team.
That being said...GE needs to cut some corporate heads. Way too much overhead on the couches and offices. Hopefully the little birdies are correct about that rumor.
Wegmans has probably noticed that Giant Eagle is losing market shares daily with its outrageous prices and figured they can do better in Pittsburgh then Giant Eagle is doing. Can’t wait

I find it hilarious that the location they picked is a stones throw from the new corporate office. Totally understand that both projects were probably in the works for months and it’s likely a coincidence but it’s still humorous
YES! And I’m pretty sure Wegmans does not have a fuel reward program that the cost is paid by higher grocery prices.
