Thread regarding Dell Inc. layoffs

**Inside Scoop: Massive Dell Layoffs Imminent – Lean into AI!**

3rd tour of duty at Dell, with 15 years of solid C-level connections. It looks like another round of layoffs is coming in August.

This is prob not news to most of you, but it sounds more than rumor as Memorial Day weekend approaches, and summer is about to be in full swing.

From what been hearing in the walls of multiple offices (OKC, RR, TN and Hopkingtons office), the layoffs are going to affect most major departments (Commercial, Enterprise, MB, SLED, and possibly SB. Most of FD should be ok).

Leadership in these areas is likely to take a big hit, while the company plans to add more lower paid sales reps. Highest paid AE’s and senior sales reps will likely be targeted.

Young College Grads are hungry, cheap, and good looking for the company. Dell has always leaned into this, especially in the past 2 years.

This move as you all know is a strategy shift toward automation and AI integration, as well as efforts to streamline operations and improve profitability.

Basically, cheaper labor more profit as we see evident in the stocks sky rocketing price, after the 13,000 layoffs over the past 12 months.

I know some of you might see this as nay-saying, and I don’t blame you. Rumors can be nasty, and I get how confusing it can be to hear conflicting information.

I will personally learn to lean into AI. As much as I don’t want the word to turn into Terminator, for now it’s where the markets are headed.

YouTube video to search - copy and paste below for the video from CNA Insider. Dell is specifically called out in the description.

I keep hearing, “Once all the worker bees are laid off, who’s next?”

Them! It’s coming…might not be August but wait for it. Finally some culling from the top! And they know it’s coming so don’t expect a bunch of layoffs but wait for all the reasons they typically give for those at that level exiting.

I agree, it’s not news to those of us who have been in the field for a bit. Just trying to warn those who may not know.

Eagles with Hotel California tried to warn many of the dangers of the music industry - the song still rings true.

It's not news... they've had stated in places that the target is to be less than 100k employees and Dell is still way above that.

India will be part of this round as well. But most likely in the Mid July time frame.

You don’t need some “inside scoop” to know they do layoffs every August. Anyone who has been here a year or more knows there is zero job security working for Dell.

LoL. Look, another end of earth layoff asteroid is near prediction.
And let's group it in with AI so it sounds super duper official and mainstream.

You are 100% right. We have no external hiring and any internal hiring is pretty stagnant. They’ve begun to just move people to investment areas but I can imagine they’ll be stopping entire projects taking the people and just moving them.

It’s a terrible company that just plays financial games. There is no strategy outside of saying “AI”.

Looking to get out as soon as I can.

Self destruction (humans generating technology only to get rid of humans). Then it will be too late to stop it from destroying humans. We are entering a dark slow period of human extinction.
