Wondering what the typical Senior Quant salary is

If you work for one of the hedge fund firms in CT, you can easily become a multi-millionaire. But Wells Fargo? There is not much hope here.
10-15 m seems very high and only for those top of game. Lots of salary estimators out there though so I’d check them and not a layoff site. 500k-1m total comp is likely pay per my (older yet adjusted for inflation) research. Most people reading this board will not qualify as it takes much more than coding etc.
It depends on which company you work for, whether you are a CFA, your experience level, etc. I know Goldman pays a lot (really a lot). Some senior quants managers I worked with at Goldman Sachs had CFA, MBA and PHD. They didn't have much social skills and worked many long hours, but they made $10 - $15 million a year. I don't work for WF cap market, so I don't know how much WF pays, but I am assuming it's much lower than Goldman.
