Intel had it's luck with IBM choosing x86 . It was LUCK, not the people, not the leadership. It was LUCK. Unfortunately, they started to fantasize about their culture, innovation, and engineering abilities. In fact all these were sub-par, but covered up with easy money.
Nvidia created its own luck with CUDA. It's luck too. Otherwise, it's just a dinky company one drives by on his way to Intel.
If there is any lesson from Huang, it is to work diligently on one's own business, try to do better, to out innovate others. Occasionally God do smile on such people.
The entitlement at intel was beyond belief equivalent to useless figurehead ruling classes, BoJo and ilk which they are not.

Typical Intel clown. I don’t know what that so called AI guy from NEX has ever achieved anything. It’s an insult to Bill Dally, by comparing him with Bill Dally. It’s like comparing 3rd grade Bollywood director with Steven Spielberg. He exemplifies why Intel failed in AI.
How does Bill Dally compare with Intel's A-players (Srini Lingam etc) from a technologists point of view?
Most, if not all folks from Folsom are C-grade and below engineers.... Some standouts but standouts are B-grade
The problem of Intel is x86 CPU business is too successful, su-king most of resources. The GPU team just doesn’t have first rate leadership and engineers like the A team built CPU business in the past. The GPU teams in Folsom are B players at best, no match to the Nvidia’s engineers from top notch schools. Pat just doesn’t have GPU Fellows like Bill Dally.
Rather than Seinfeld's George Costanza, Pat is more like its Babu Bhat who tried opening a Pakistani restaurant on Jerry's advice, but nobody came.
