Tracking

We were told today that they are tracking RTO with badge swipes. What are they using for everyone else? And if it’s to see if you’re connected to the network, why are you considering badge swipes at all? Is it to do a Quick Look at how many people are coming in so they can feel good about themselves?

Managers are getting reports in workday on it. Shows how much of the goal you met with 3+ days per week. I think every manager knows who is coming in and not at this point. I don’t think they need a report to show them that. Because let’s face it no manager is going to enforce that nor are they going to penalize an employee.

I was told that was the case until a few months ago. They most recently stated that they are now tracking IP addresses. That way they can tell if you are connected to a USB host or through Ivanti from a home based connection.

What’s next? Punching in and out even if exempt? Seems like we are all backwards and about 20 years behind. Someone in HR is a control freak. Is that you Elfio?

All it takes is one disgruntled employee to have their heads spinning. We watch the news and see what happens when people are pushed too hard. Unbelievable.
