Get fit? PIP?

A family member of mine was told she's now on some "get fit" plan..and if she doesnt pass, will be on PIP. I assume this is just a heads up she's losing her job (side note, its very odd since she surpassed her goals last year and was never given a warning in previous years). Does anyone have info in the fit plan or pip?

In my thirty years in management and engineering I never had the feeling that someone was spying on me. Conversations should be focused on the requirements for the projects you are currently working on. If this person is not working on the project with you and is not your direct superior, politely tell them that you are busy working.

For kicks you could parrot their nosey irrelevant questions back at them too and see how they like it. Never answer them though about anything that is not related to the task at hand and only then if they are involved in it. In the end though I suggest it is best to not be rude to rude people and that you should just ignore them.

Also document anything inappropriate that they say in case you need to involve HR. HR should be avoided though unless totally necessary because it is affecting productivity; you are better to stay off of their radar for the wrong reasons.

Have a colleague who seems to spying on me. Calling and messaging daily for check ins and even at night asking questions about my day and what am I doing. Often times I’m feeling baited to say bad things about the company and vent my frustrations . I have never experienced anything like this in my professional career. Several times she’s mentioned talking to our boss on his cell. I don’t know if It’s just her personality or there’s something behind it . Do they do things like that here ? For a little while there I was also getting calls from a previous colleague trying to get me to say I’m not happy at the company and looking for another job. It’s been very strange and intrusive . Thanks for the insight

PIPs are a failure of leadership. Very well said! A fish rots from the head and something stinks here.

Top leadership is not cutting it, and those new leaders who are coming in are eating people up without an ounce of understanding. Simply doing what they've done in the past, and will create more ripples and tides that will crush WP's chances of revenue. No one is stopping to focus on the details, and are pushing people to do without actual plans or systems in place. PIPS are failures on the leader pushing them.

Performance Improvement Plan (PIP). Sounds like the CEO is failing and this is simply projection onto the employees. My advice is for your relative to go work someplace else where she will be appreciated.
