Thread regarding U.S. Bank layoffs

Sekou’s Conduct Providing Job Security?

Seems Sekou’s misconduct has served his boss and direct reports well. Planned cuts to the branch region executives can’t happen as planned and Tim’s departure is held up as well.

I can say I have seen Sekou over a dozen times in the past 18 months and there is absolutely nothing special about that guy. He repeats himself every single time with the same story about how he grew up with a family that suffered through losing their business when he was a kid. Even his weekly calls I attend, he shows up 10% of the time for. He literally travels nonstop and brings no value. His direct reports are just as bad if not worse.

This bank has made some horrible decisions on senior leaders over the past 2 years and the trend isn’t slowing down. The ones that suffer are the front line employees and their leaders.

Truthfully no one is safe and the next two weeks are going to be tough for a lot of individuals.

The culture here has been ruined and there’s no coming back with the senior leaders we have in place now.

Recruiters are spilling the T on his hires. They see it all and have no fear left. Calling out the blatant discrimination and handing the receipts to the ones not hired. #ChaChing$

Sabotage? Fall guy? Tim has plenty of faults but he lacks the capacity for malice. He wanted Sekou to succeed him, and quickly because he is exhausted and ready to do something more fulfilling. He wasn’t set up to fail. Tim just didn’t vet him. There’s a reason he’s not at Chase anymore.

Timmy has supposedly already dispatched T Shermy to push him out apparently.

Everyone knew from the beginning Sekou was to be the fall guy for the incompetent redshoes wearing rick moranis TW who already failed at making everyone a "consultant" and demanding leaders take naps while numbers didn't matter and rome burns. I am sure ole Timmy sent HK, KS, or one of his other hand picked washed up middle aged drunken harpies to sabotage Sekou then file baseless, nebulous, undefendable HR investigations after him to so USB doesn't have pay his severance. Typical rinse wash and repeat cycle of incompetence under TW. USB better hope he doesn't have receipts...

Unless someone can even provide a pseudo story/dirt here this seems just some smoke? People drink and get wasted all the time during company events and functions.

I’m unsure how someone without an MBA or finance degree of any kind gets to where he is. He has a masters but it’s in public policy (?)

His HR buddies will cover him. They are easily bought with a few nice dinners and trips on the jet. The boys club is alive and well at USB.
