I feel like he’s very much working behind the scenes and I don’t have a sense of his plan for the future (besides AI). Wish we could go back to the Majorie days.

If you aren't happy, start looking at new careers and look outside the industry. The industry continues to see downward pricing power and a shift to OER. Why fight for a smaller piece of the pie when you could be happier elsewhere? The grass is greener outside the industry and this isn't meant as a knock against Pearson - it is an industry wide downturn with no real sign of upward mobility.
He's about cold blooded cuts & profit. People have been moved around, down or out.
It's not advertised.
Does anyone at Pearson remember when it was fun to work at Pearson and you developed close friends over the years? The company has cut back on so much. We used to have swagger and had fun doing our job. Now we have neither. Our CEO’s have changed the culture.
Or the layoffs are to account for the fact our Teflon PEM’s strategies have been a failure on the whole. Not going to make themselves redundant.
Well, just because Omar hasn't gotten rid a lot of his direct team doesn't mean that other people haven't been let go. I know of two people that have disappeared just today. I understand that there are hiring freezes and all open job positions are being reviewed. Perhaps these layoffs are to help pay for Andy Bird's $3M bonus.
The fact he’s been here nearly 6 months and only fired one of his direct team should tell you all you need to know.
