So it’s been confirmed that managers have a dashboard on workday to monitor badge swipes. Does anyone know if they’re monitoring VPN access, aka login in from home? I think it will be a matter of time before they start doing that but curious if it’s in place now or in the works

The micromanaging is getting frustrating and they think everything needs to involve them babysitting. The culture has been toxic and I feel like I walk on eggshells now with all the constant monitoring going on. My team has had our own space. If the desk sharing thing happens when our building starts the hub it’s going to really p*** a lot of people off. At this point I feel like it is on purpose.
Monitoring workers like we are inmates at the prison. Hopefully new recruits are taking notes and staying away from this trap. It used to be so nice here what a heck happened.
the managers got data going back to December. Groups are starting to use a program that gives managers reports telling them every click made on every application on their computer.
The Working Together FAQs now includes info about the badge swipes. It will be monitored but employees have the ability to choose to work from any in office location other than the one assigned to them. They don't mention anything about if we are given keys to the day storage areas in the shared desk spaces. What's the point of using it if you cannot lock securely lock your personal items. Check out the updated faqs, there is a lot of new info as of Monday.
Those saying we would track vpn access way overestimate the ability for USB to leverage data in a meaningful way. Can confirm tracking of days in office.
Seems like we are becoming China or something. All the watching, tracking all so sudden. This is the United States of America for God sake. We need to take it back in our hands or we will end up like these other countries without a voice and under mass surveillance.
To there person that made the comment about the firecodes --- Of course any building that requires badging in/badging out always has a gate that can be used to let people in/out manually. USBank's property at Energy Park Drive in St. Paul MN is configured this way. It has been this way for 27 years. I can't comment before that period as I was not there prior to '97.
Requiring a swipe to exit a building is a violation of fire codes in many jurisdictions. If they attempt to instigate that then a call to the local fire marshal is in order.
I was told from my manager that buildings will require a badge out -- so hours (not just badge swipes) can be tracked. It has always been this way at 1 location in St. Paul -- soon coming to all the locations.
I do not have a badge to swipe at my location. I use a regular metal key. How will my attendance be tracked in Workday? Or will it not be tracked?
Manager of managers and I haven't been made privy to this yet. Not surprised but ho info yet.
This is not a new thing for companies at all. This type of info has always been available even if not distributed. I can tell you from those I know that are in management roles in other companies they are getting info on when people use their badge to enter a facility and if they are using VPN when they are using that system.
If we didn't have badges they would be able to tell if we logged in with VPN or if we logged in from a corporate site.
Only shows swipe in. Are there locations that you have to badge out?
Does it only show when you swipe in or does it also show you swipe out or how long you are actually in the office?
I plan to swipe in and go work at home to avoid all the chatters that distract me from doing actual work. Don’t want to hear about your kids or the latest real house wife shows
It is true. I am a manager of mangers and I got the note with link to workday. The e mail even gave mocked up data. I asked around and it appears direct managers did not get the note. Must have been cut by grade who got the note. It’s live. I could see a few of my team that are hybrid and how much in office. All based on card key swipes.
Is anyone else disgusted with how much time, effort, and money U.S. Bank funnels towards micromanagement efforts? At the same time the rest of the bank is dysfunctional and in the stone age.
It is true my manager went over it yesterday with our team. Gives you a percent of time you were in workday.
Got an email from my manager that they do have access to a dashboard in Workday to monitor badge swipes. Not sure about monitoring VPN access, but it wouldn't surprise me if that's coming down the road.
This is not true. Manager of manager here.
