Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

Be careful what you wish for VSP2

When the first VSP happen in the job market was extremely hot.. these have pulled down tremendously so if you’re thinking you’re gonna retire, take the money and run, but if you think you’re gonna stay in the workforce maybe stay and just be lackluster and survive

The job market is not as bad as many of you are thinking. Many people laid off on April 12th have found jobs already

Be careful what you wish for is such garbage. It’s what you say to children not adults.

You’re right, this is said by the union a lot.

‘Be careful what you wish for’ is the worst advice to give.

‘Make sure you’re prepared’ would be better.

You’re inciting fear, just like the union does to manipulate it’s members.

My $50 a month pension for 25 years of service doesn’t have me real concerned about interest rates. Won’t even pay my verizon line with the 25% discount retirees get.

The company knows exactly how to sc--w its employees better than they can run a business

"Be lackluster and survive". That is straight from page 2 of the union handbook.

Interest rates were also at an all time low, so those retiring and taking a lump sum pension made out really well. Not so much this time.
