I got my EISP yesterday, I’m a tech in Pa. Not sure what to do. My lump sum is down over 250k right now.

If you panicked and left in 2022 why are you trolling this site maybe you should cut your grass for for the sixth time this week or go for a nice walk at the mall and finish your meaningful day by watching some Fox News

that is why techs aren't leaving . they missed the money train, they know how much they lost and will now stick around to recoup that loss until the company offers something interesting . work is dwindling and they get paid to play candy crush. no package means more payroll year after year. most will stick around until they get those overdue knee and hip replacements on the company dime. no reason to leave without an incentive.

All of the VSP packages being discussed here are VBG, not VZ(former ma bell) wireline stuff. they have been running projects and making contract moves for 2 years to get it as ready as possible to package(TDM discos, freezing TFs so inventory is as static as possible, selling 4000 'mgrs' to HCL so they could do the dirty work of wielding the axe, one last VSP, etc.) They need to sell that off in the next 18 months, and then sell off the non-backbone wireline to Apollo Mgt(lumen, bright speed, etc). in order to sweeten the deal they will give them a few thousand FIOS or Fiber installs in the NE. VZ will have this sold off before the next CWA contract expires in August of '26, therefore VZ will not need to negotiate a new contract; CWA will be negotiating w/Apollo.

I would think 2025, but people are leaving on their own anyways.

Some had the package but lost it in court or mediation.

People have been saying a package next year or the year after. Remember they CAN’T do a package when they are actively hiring.

Anyone that could have left in June 2022 when the rates were 0% is a total mo--n. Even if they offered a package, it won’t be anything close to what you would have gotten 2 years ago.
