To the current mobility reps you will be the ones out of a job once 800 service reps transfer over. They cut from the bottom remember that. So the mobility employees saying your the one leading the company and it was about time to cut us. Thank you for your service
We will take over from here. Keeping our current pay Working at home in our pajamas. Unless you have over 20 years of senority start looking for a job. Cuts start December when the company sees Noone quit or retired.

What does it mean when Org changes name like what happened today? It can't be a good thing for we employees! The company is up to something big and you know it means cost cutting. I hope to be laid off soon.

Can we all agree once and for all, that wireline is the backbone for mobility? I don’t know why people keep trying to act as if they are separate entities. There is NO cell/wireless without wireline transport and equipment. You’d think employees that work in telecommunications would know that, it’s wireless from a device to cell tower(s) then goes wireline, either fiber or copper. Search Wikipedia, would be a good start for the uninformed.

“ They definitely need more now that the mobility centers will be carrying the weight the wireline centers used to”

Math wasn’t your major …..,

How is the Purple mobility contract better for severance? Under leg-T, the VTP pays out 2 years salary.

Leg T is under the total watermark for total employees, but still over the watermark for total NTS’s(although they’ve lost 10% of their headcount in the last 15 months with no backfilling). Grievances have been filed for being under the watermark, but who knows what is going to happen with that.

We do have 2 more years left under the current contract, but it definitely feels like something is in the works. VTP pretty much died 20 years ago when SBC bought Leg T, although it has happened due to surpluses occasionally. Unfortunately Leg T is so small that there’s not a lot of jobs to transfer to, not to mention there’s been a hiring freeze going on two years now. They’d rather have employees making 40K or more in overtime covering for the people that have left instead of backfilling anyone.

"They don't need 750 employees transferring in to mobility. They don't even keep many on the mobility side as it is."

They definitely need more now that the mobility centers will be carrying the weight the wireline centers used to.

Completely accurate , sad but true. Thank you union folks.

Once you are moved over to mobility purple the severance changes from $75000 to only $20000 max in increments of $800 a week not one lump. Also this affected a little over 800 service and leveraged reps from 14 call centers. Hardly anyone is taking the tloa or retirement. Meaning the union set us up to get surplussed on the mobility side for a $45000 less in severance. They don't need 750 employees transferring in to mobility. They don't even keep many on the mobility side as it is.

Too d-mbed down by shaking your head up and down to upper management? Look at how things go for union employees. The Service Reps in Texas are being kept at their current wage and will be full time work from home. Loln.

“ We were laughing in the office yesterday ”

Funny , we laugh all year long watching you union slugs look over your shoulders everyday to see where your job is going. Concessions galore coming your way, can wait to pass out the tissues to you goofs. We only hope you were smart enough to plan for your imminent surplus….nah who are we kidding ,you guys can’t plan a birthday party. Happy eventual job hunting….

Best possible scenario. Term pay is waaaaay more lucrative. We were laughing in the office yesterday when we heard how much nonbargained for severance is.

It's not true. The Leg-T contract doesn't expire until 2026. And the contract contains employment "watermarks" that provides that headcount doesn't drop below certain numbers. So, if they shift existing Leg-T employees to another contract, they would have to hire backfill to maintain the watermarks.

They are already BELOW the watermark and have been for awhile!!! The contract expiration date means nothing in this scenario. Do you see anyone being hired under Leg T? LOL And if the Union agrees to changing the contract to Purple then they will change it. The Watermark is a joke.

The rumor is we get shifted after the next contract is ratified as just happened in D6. That would be 2026 or even later if we work for a while without a contract. It would be encouraging to hear from our union leaders that taking certain titles and shifting them to another contract is NOT happening under any circumstances, now or later.

If true-you will have the option to take the surplus package which is WAY better than a VTP package. It is actually great news if you want to leave the company.
