Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

Another bad quarter

Our financials are horrible again.

ROCE hit a new low, dropping by 50% from 2022.

Earnings are down by more than half from 2022.

We borrowed $1 billion to pay the dividend, increasing our debt to equity, because we don't have enough money.

Production declined from 4Q (this was hidden in the presentation as they compared to 1Q2023 so they could get PDC production boost shown...)

@abl: "Can't of been that bad. Wall Street seems to like it"

YTD Return, 4/30/24 - MarketWatch:

CVX: 8.12 %
XOM: 18.29 %

... Wall Street seems to like it ?

When's the last time ANYONE on "Wall Street" said: Chevron's firing on all cylinders ?

We need new leadership.

Wall Street loved Enron. Until they didn't. BTW, where were they located??

Saying Wall Street likes it doesn't mean a whole lot long term. Wall Street pumped up Tesla stock after RocketBoy said they were going to have Robotaxis up and running in the next year. I laughed.

Why do you guys even remotely think some positive outcome will happen quarter after quarter where the same people in charge of big projects who sc--wed up as still in high ranking positions and the decision makers are the same for vast majority of key business decisions. No one should expect any thing above average at best with the current management structure,a total revamp and re shuffle of all executives is needed for course correction, at this point we are titanic on the last few hours of the journey.

But it’s ok because MW was focused on the diversity awards.

Great summary. Mw is trying to extract as much personal benefit as possible. No thoughts about the future, in part because he is not capable. Now he has EB to help him who has no strategic thinking either.
