Thread regarding Windstream Corp. layoffs

So what's going to happen with Kinetic by windstream name?

Are they going to rebrand everything again and be called Uniti or keep the name what it is ?

Have equipment shipped to your house, project gets canceled. Equals windfall

cost money to rebrand everything so they'll probably leave same name and wait til next big m & a.

You all forget things too easily. Google search two words together “zayo windstream” and see what the search results show.

And why someone would come to a site like this wondering about rebranding is beyond me….

Let's remember that Elliott also owns a big chunk of Frontier.

It’s gonna be called whatever Elliott wants. They got 425 million in Cash. 575 in first level equity. Also 38% of a 13.4 billion dollar company in stock. This is on top of what they already own of it. It will take until 25 to close and I imagine another sale before 27 due to debt owed. Only winner is Elliott and helps avoid Uniti bankruptcy.

Windstream name will die, but Uniti is keeping Kinetic brand.

I really don’t think there’s going to be any changes at all in the day to day. Really, there will still b some layoffs and maybe a few managers here and there, but this should be pretty much business as usual. Keep farming customer interface groups out to overseas and tech support groups overseas little by little and field guys do whatever service or install work that gets sold. Probably not much in way of raises for awhile, but by and large, same old same old.

The numbers are in : Unity owns 62% of equity while Windstream owns 38% of equity in the deal. Some call it a merge but Unity is ultimately sitting at the head of the table and controls future decisions.

What would be the point of selling it now that they have merged , I read an article from 2021 about how uniti was 8th largest fiber network in the country and was planning on becoming one of the biggest fiber networks by acquiring more fiber....who could they possibly merge with in another big buy

Everything will remain the same. Once the dust settles and everything is finalized in 12-18 months look for the big move. This company is much more appealing now with the merge.

Probably rebrand everything in the portfolio. Might stay as Kinetic by Uniti, but could just as easily be changed to a new name.
