Thread regarding Nielsen layoffs

Hard to believe people will be getting paid LESS than what we currently do

It's a well known fact that Nielsen pays 20 - 35+ percent less than industry averages, and even with that they are STILL in deep financial trouble, and have done everything possible to avoid giving raises, COL increases and bonus reductions over the last couple of years.

Now sending jobs offshore to cut that down even further, and paying half or less of what they currently do already. It's truly sad to see years and years of bad decisions catching up so quickly, and yet they still keep promoting attracting talent and "being the leader" in XYZ.

Nielsen's so bad off they avoided having their new hires attend or witness any of the global town halls talking about GCC's and offshoring during their training at the GTIC.

All of those I've spoken with say the same about their roles paying significantly less than avg and promotions that are non-existent. Best to steer clear as Nielsen has been a dead company for awhile.

Below average stagnant wages and no growth opportunities, and will lie at every opportunity to do so - with the newest game plan to move to "cheaper areas of the world" (per their own words) to do business like India and Mexico for taking advantage of workers even more.

Truth to that. I'll say that as an Analyst with years of experience I'm making less than $40k, and they act like they're doing you a favor at that. No promotions or chances for growth, but soon won't be an issue anymore. Thankfully.

From conversations with another Analyst (offshore) they're getting paid in the $25k range, so let that sink in. Glad to be free of this mess soon.
