Thread regarding Nike Inc. layoffs

Layoffs are CLASSES

In the most outrageous, narcissistic display of utter BS I have seen in a while, people are claiming a laid off badge of honor by renaming their layoff wave as the “the class of 20xx.”

Talk about putting lipstick on a pig! Yah, being laid off is normal. In no way does it define you as a terrible person, executive or worker. It also does not make you the best of the best. How about STFU and stop with the TLDR emoting. Nobody gives a sh-t to that extent. Wow. Cringe!

Social media, including LinkedIn, turns everyone into a narcissist. Everyone is the star in their own drama. They simply don’t realize that nobody else cares.

One of my favorite reads: Google “The Universe Doesn’t Give A Flying F***
About You” by Johnny Truant.

I heard a rumor that Nike employees have a reputation for being kind to each other.

I agree with the general sentiment of OP post, though I don’t necessarily think The people who get laid off are trying to say they are the best of the best. I will say, though that the last thing you will ever see me doing is going on LinkedIn and putting up a novel about how much I’m grateful for an opportunity at Nike…. those are sentiments that I express privately to the people who I plan on keeping in touch with because the reality is that I’m grateful for the relationships and not Nike per se .
