How’s it looking for fall 2024 or 2025 pdc probables? Given all the divestments CBU etc and potential reorganization GOM, CTC etc?… Spring 24 was lackluster to say the least…has the dust settled for FGP or still more must moves in pipeline?

Predictions for the PRC? Same as always…friends and family central.
PDC is a smoke screen for managers to make personnel decisions on group-think instead of being accountable themselves. If a hire doesn't work out, move them on to the next assignment and take comfort knowing it was a full room of overpaid management that made the pick.
Along with relying on BCG, McKinsey, etc to come up with brilliant reorg ideas, it is a mystery what our management actually does to earn their salaries.
The reason for a PDC is to find the Hi-Pots their next assignment. The jobs they don't want are filled in with the next level favorites. If you aren't in either of those categories, you're just wasting time because you'll never get picked.
With shrinking staff, fewer BUs, fewer (actually none) foreign assignments available, and fewer true technical development assignments, PDC is now just shuffling the salt and pepper shakers on the table. The lofty goal of the old Chevron of developing people through multiple assignments is over, MW long ago decided that was too expensive. Wherever you are, that's where you're likely to be the rest of your career. The only purpose left is to act as a smokescreen for moving high-pots around.
Welcome to Midland!
Fall PDCs could look up for the most part with plentiful jobs' and whatnot.
@1old+ Agree, d-mbest process at Chevron. Wonder if anyone has ever thought about how much Chevron spends on this process given the number of people involved (job owners, PDR’s, job family PDC members, sponsors, etc.) x multiple meetings x internal hourly rate x twice yearly.
It'd gotten very dysfunctional under jc
Personally, the PDC is the d-mbest thing I’ve ever heard of. All it does is throw segments of the company into total confusion twice a year. I know of no other company does. Does this insane process.
Depends on the function.
