Thread regarding U.S. Bank layoffs

Anyone seen these open work spaces?

I heard they are long desks with chairs and no divider and everyone is basically sitting at arms length or less. Nightmare scenario.

They said it’s to allow more people in one space. Cramming humans like sardines @2nri+1swQQAIG

I just wonder why the cafeteria table instead of cubicles? Is it just to save money or for some other purpose?

There are a couple neighborhood floors set up in MSP did anyone actually see these floors? I watched the video and seen the longer desk setup also so I’m just angry and confused.

Maybe down the road, but leadership wants RTO to take place this year. It would be practically impossible and insanely expensive to replace all of the existing furniture at the hubs this year with what you are imagining. Simply said, the existing furniture is staying put for the foreseeable future.

@1lfh+1swQQAIG you should have watched the video about the new space and recent updates have been posted to the workforce strategy FAQ. Open seating is what they are doing and you will be sitting at arms length.

The OP post isn't true. From what I've heard there's no budget for changes, so the cubes and offices will remain as is and will be outfitted with standard tech. The big change is no assigned desks or offices, so personal stuff is going to be removed.

That’s how my dad worked in the 60’s. Except then everyone smoked so there was cloud hovering over you.

The St Paul hub is supposedly going that route. Alot of management is fighting it though. I already had to take all my personal stuff home.

Miami Sound Machine’s “Conga” remix will be played on an endless loop in all workspaces. All the while Elfio will be doing the Macarena 🕺 as he visits each and every desk. Dude can dance! Go Elfio!

I currently work in a shared desk environment, it's similar to what we had before. They do have dividers between the desks. But the desks are way smaller than they were before, so you're basically sitting on top of each other.

Just sit in the parking garage/lot and use the WiFi. I do it all the time.

Yeah, it's like that.

Zero assigned offices, even if you are assigned to a hub 5 days per week.

Oh great that’s the pre Covid open space setup I quit years ago. No frickin way I’m doing this again. They lost their marbles.
