Thread regarding Optum layoffs

Notice of reduction of force

Today my entire business unit was notified of a reduction of force. July 15th is the separation date. My business unit is CPS Provider Communications. Completely su-ks that a cyber attack closed an entire business unit.

@uhv+1syPrdfT 100+ people. Operations, product, project management, implementation, and a 24/5 production team in Toledo, Ohio. I’m sure IT resources not supporting MCDS were included.

I don’t think Optum had any intention of keeping our team after the merger. The “cyber attack” conveniently put us low in priority for restoration, despite providing services and tools that are essential to maintaining cash flow.

The restoration talks slowed down shortly after news broke about Optum being extorted, post ransom payment. Coincidence?

I’ll miss the people that I worked with the most and wish the best for everyone.

I'm sorry to hear off your situation. It happened to me last year. If it's any consolation, even though I loved what I did for Optum, I am so glad to not be associated with such an immoral company.
Best of luck to you.
To the management that mishandles this mess and impacts these people, shame on you. I wish you had the courage to address these fine folks in person and explain your decisions FACE to FACE. But cowards don't behave that way.

Everything UHC touches.. they seem to ruin. :-(
I am sorry. I wish you the best! It is just a matter of time, before it happens to all of us.
I hope your severance package is good!
