Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Network Outage

Appears to be Voice and Data outage in Central Oklahoma Metro Area (Uverse related and/or fiber cut?), as of about 2:30pm Friday. AT&T reporting time of repair by tomorrow (Saturday morning 4:00am-6:00am). No phone, no internet, no TV.

OP here, after 5 days, Prem Tech Visit determined that the WiFi gateway needed to be changed out. Simple changeout solved my issue.

Until it’s repaired, you can usually use your cell phone as a hotspot. If you don’t have unlimited then watch out for your max. limits so, you don’t have overage data charges.

Outages happen all the time for various reasons. As another poster stated, we have an excellent crew of folks that clear these things all the time and do it very quickly and efficiently. Those folks are probably some of the best teams in the company honestly.

Who knows, there are outages from weather events, vehicles running into facilities, contractors or general public digging and damaging the fiber/cables, all the time. It’s not rare or really news worthy unless there is an extended outage. They usually give a time of repair but it is usually sooner, AT&T has an experienced workforce, who are very good at finding and repairing any network issues quickly.
