Rear Temperature Control

2024 Expedition: the rear temperature control button should turn the rear AC ON or OFF without having to go to the 12” screen to turn it on/off. It’s a needless step and a driving distraction. Sure, bring up the screen for 10-15 secs in case you want to edit a setting such as fan speed, etc., but not to turn it on or off. Poorly designed. It is SO MUCH easier to do this in the 2017 model year.

Give me knobs and buttons. I hate the touch screen. Cars are not iPhones.

I could have purchased an Expedition Timberline with the higher package for almost the same price with discounts as the one I ordered with the 500a basic pkg. there is no way I wanted that tablet screen in my truck. The basic package with the 12” screen and physical temperature control buttons is perfect.

I really appreciate all the responses from Ford employees. I know what your up against. I’ve been there many times in my industry. It always seemed like we were making something for the first time even though we were in our business for years! I agree, the Tesla model of GUI su-ks.

Ford wants to be Tesla. Tesla user interface blows so now our user interface has to blow.

This is all because some number guy said that getting rid of a physical button saves us $0.0x per vehicle, so they literally ask us to do everything in software. We try to make it easy but there as so many restrictions for safety related items that we have to bury simple stuff in many menus, and it actually becomes a new safety issue. My boss says “just use voice commands” but I hate yelling at my car three times to get the wrong radio station. I’ve given up, they pay me the same for implementing good or bad design.

Wait til you need to press five menu buttons to rearrange your vent registers

Somewhere the gadget folks took over common sense.. You can't add an option for simple or the marketing folks have not figured it out yet.

If I want heated seats I need all the other stuff that comes in that package.

The management teams driving new vehicles every year should have had to pick them up at the dealers, service at dealers and drive them 2-3 yrs.
